TMP Industries
Before founding PORT80, Melvin was a key founding creative and the former Creative Head of TMP Productions Inc., a leading record label and production company in the Philippines, known for its team of award-winning directors, photographers, and celebrities.
During his tenure, Melvin was instrumental in working with some of the most iconic brands and artists in the industry, including FILA, Dior, UNDRAFTED, Def Jam SEA, VIVA Records and, as well as artists like Al James, Diego Gutierrez, and Skusta Clee.
His solo exhibitions exist at the intersection of traditional and digital art, shaped by an upbringing in middle-class Manila and a life now unfolding in Dubai, where he runs a creative agency. Moving between these geographies, his work reflects the disorientation of entering new worlds as an outsider—negotiating distance, identity, and belonging.
Drawing from the density of the concrete jungle and the shifting landscapes of migration, his practice explores ambition, vulnerability, and transformation. It traces the quiet tension between origin and reinvention, where personal history collides with the unknown, and where becoming is never fixed, only in motion.
